• Welcome to the Future

    • Welcome to the future! The year 2020 has long been a symbol of the future, as it is a nice round number and marks the end of the decade. It has therefore probably been a benchmark for future predictors, trend watchers, clairvoyants and others with a vision for many years. But unfortunately, or fortunately, in most cases they were wrong.

For a long time, it was thought that we would have flying cars in 2020. Everyone would spend their day wearing intelligent glasses. We would live in flying houses with personal robots that would serve us, what a delight. However, there were also some gloomy predictions. For example, in the late 1960s it was thought that the world population would have been decimated by hunger and war.

Now that we have arrived in the future and 2020 has become a reality, we see that there is still a lot to dream and work on. For example, at Epic Drive we note that hundreds of thousands of employees are still dragging around with carts, trolleys, beds and containers on a daily basis. While many people had the hope that we could have left all this work to robots and would never have to work again, the reality is different.

According to experts, it can take another 10 to 20 years for robotics to be able to take over all human tasks in warehousing at an acceptable cost level. Although predictions must be taken with a grain of salt, developments and innovation often take more time than expected. That is why Epic Drive will continue to work in this new decade to help employees and caregivers perform their daily activities in a healthy, efficient and pleasant way.

We have therefore decided to look ahead at this turn of the year and celebrate 2020 as a year in which we will work relentlessly to shape the future in a positive manner. We wish you a healthy and prosperous 2020, with many "Epic Drives".
